Microwave Applesauce

This recipe is a FAVORITE of all of the little people at my house (and the big people, too!). The girls beg for it. It's great warm and could easily be a dessert, maybe with a little granola on top - YUM!

6 medium apples (I mix sweet and sour kinds or throw in a pear or two)
1 cup apple cider ( the real stuff is best, but regular apple juice works, too)
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. butter (probably why it is so good)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Peel, core, and quarter the apples. Add them and the remaining ingredients to a microwave-safe bowl with a lid. Do not put the lid on tightly, just attach on one side. Cook in microwave for 10 minutes. Be carefull!! It is VERY hot when it is done. Blend the apples using a blender (hand or standing, but hand is a little easier). Blend to your taste, chunky or smoothe.
