Coconut Oatmeal Heaven Cake

I'm excited to be the first of many great creations to come. But this one is my all time favorites. Enjoy!

Combine
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oatmeal
1/2 c. butter

Let the above sit while you combine the following:

Combine
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/4 c. flour
1 Tsp. cinnamon
1 Tsp. baking soda
1/2 Tsp. salt

Add this and the first mixture. Pour the combined mixes into a 13x9 pan sprayed with Pam. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 30-40 minutes....BUT WATCH IT!!! THIS IS A VERY FLAT CAKE.

When the cake has about 5-10 minutes left mix together the following:

Combine
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. evaporated canned milk
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 Tsp. vanilla
6 oz. coconut

Boil for 1 minute and spread on HOT cake. Broil for 1-2 minutes until very BUBBLY BUT WATCH VERY CLOSELY!!! Do not burn!

I hope you all enjoy this one. Let me know what you think at washthosehands.blogspot.com

Love you all!
Love Jacqui

As you are making this cake, your house is going to be filled with some of the most amazing smells you have ever smelled. If they could make it into a candle, it would be a bestseller.

Not to mention the cake...OH MY GOODNESS! I don't even really like cake but this cake "takes the cake." I have never tasted anything that I wanted to scarf down more than this. I'm having to hold myself back right now (I made it today) as most of it is promised to other people as a Sunday/Birthday treat.

Thank you so much Jacqui for sharing!

You are welcome! I am glad I could share it, now I won't be the only one scarfing down two sticks of butter!

I really am glad you did this. I love to share recipies. I have a new recipe that I thought-I should send this to Jerianne, she would love it. Remember, I am a novice at this-tell me how to post a recipe. My email is jenniferscharman@sbcglobal.net or just leave it my blog. Love you!
