Kansas Dirt Pie
My mother has made this my whole life. It's called Dirt Pie by most everyone I talk to but I always remembered it being called Kansas Dirt. So I titled it Kansas Dirt Pie. It is always a treat and always delicious.
Ingredients:
1 pckg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup confectioner's sugar (powdered sugar)
3 1/2 cups cold milk
2 pkgs. (3.4 oz./each) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 carton (12 oz.) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 pkg. (15 1/2 oz.) Oreo cookies, crushed
Directions:
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter and confectioners' sugar until smooth. In another large bowl, whisk milk and pudding mixes for 2 minutes; let stand for 2 minutes or until soft-set. Gradually stir into cream cheese mixture. Fold in whipped topping.
Spred 1 1/3 cups crushed cookies into an ungreased 13x9-inch dish. Layer with half the pudding mixture and half the remaining cookies. Repeat layers. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
